Ingredient Breakdown

Follow these simple steps for a relaxing at home facial using Mountain Thyme facial products and simple ingredients from your own kitchen.

What you will need:
Mountain Thyme Products: Herbal Facial Steam, Herbal Facial Toner; Neroli Facial Oil.
Other Ingredients: Raw Honey; Plain Yogurt; Oats.



Herbal Facial Steam:

A blend of Calendula, Elder Flower, Lavender, Raspberry Leaf, Rose Petals and Fennel Seed. An Old fashion beauty treatment. Plumps, hydrates, softens and opens up pores for glowing healthy skin.

What's in it matters:

Calendula: Calendula is a power flower. The properties of Calendula are known to brighten skin and protect from blemishes. The ancient Egyptians considered these flowers to have rejuvenating properties.

Elder Flower: Elder flower is like a secret beauty ingredient. It has softening, anti-inflammatory and anti-wrinkle properties.

Lavender: One of the most popular and well known herbs used for beauty and skin care. In Roman times the flowers were used in baths. Not only does Lavender have a calming effect, it is stimulating and toning.

Raspberry Leaf: It is believed Raspberry leaf can help stimulate regeneration and tighten the surface of the skin.

Rose Petals: Roses have therapeutic benefits that reduce stress and promote glowing skin. Rose petals contain natural oils and sugars that lock moisture into dry skin.

Fennel Seed: The properties in Fennel Seed promote glowing smooth skin. Its antiseptic properties are also wonderful for oily and acne prone skin.


 

 
Neroli Facial Oil:

A combination of Grape Seed oil, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, and Jojoba oil. Soaked with Comfrey Root, Comfrey Leaf, Rose Hips, Licorice Root and Neroli Essential oil.

 We soak our Mountain Thyme carrier oil with herbs in a cool dark place for four to six weeks.

 Keep in the shower to be used as a daily face wash or use after shower as a moisturizer. One dab in the palm of your hand is all you need.

 What's in it matters:

Comfrey: Comfrey has been considered a skin healing plant for centuries. Comfrey leaves are high in Calcium and Vitamin C which can promote healing of the skin. Comfrey can also draw out impurities and protect skin from bacteria and UV damage.

Rose Hips: The properties of Rose Hips promote healthy skin rejuvenation and reduce the appearance of dark spots and aging spots. It is also a natural source of the powerful antioxidants lycopene, which helps improve the skins texture.

Licorice Root: Licorice root is used for both its health benefits and skin care benefits. It can be used as an effective treatment for rosacea, dermatitis and psoriasis.

Neroli Essential Oil: it takes about 1,000 lbs. of handpicked Orange blossoms to create 1 lb. of Neroli oil. Due to its ability to heal skin at the cellular level, Neroli essential oil can be beneficial for wrinkles, scars and stretch marks.


 

 Herbal Facial Toner:

Lavender soaked Witch Hazel, Lavender essential oil and apple cider vinegar.

 Soak a cotton ball with toner and apply to skin.

What doesn’t Witch Hazel do for your skin? The natural astringent in witch hazel can help tighten skin, fight off acne, and prevent signs of aging. The properties of witch hazel can also prevent puffy eyes and oily skin. We take our witch hazel and soak it in lavender, to capture all the natural skin benefits in that plant as well. Our toner is topped off with lavender essential oil and just a touch of apple cider vinegar to reduce age spots, balance skin and fight wrinkles.

 

Yogurt and Oat Face Scrub:

Simple ingredients found in your kitchen.  Mix equal parts yogurt and oats. Apply to face and massage into skin. Rinse with warm water.

 What’s in it matters:

Yogurt contains a lactic acid that helps dissolves dead skin cells. Combined with oats it makes a great exfoliator and moisturizer.


 

 Raw Honey Facial Mask:

Apply Honey to face and allow to sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

 What’s in it matters:

Honey has tons of properties that benefits skin. It is naturally antibacterial and full of antioxidants which means it helps fight acne and aging.  Honey is also moisturizing and soothing leaving your skin feeling soft and healthy.

 

 

Steps:

1 Yogurt Scrub: Combine 2tbl of Yogurt and 2tbl of oats in a small bowl. Stir until combined.
Apply to face as an exfoliating face scrub. Massage into skin and rinse with warm water.

2. Facial Steam: Place 2tbl. Herbal steam into a large bowl. Pour 4 cups of boiling hot water over the herbs. Drape a towel over head and bowl and blow into bowl to create steam.

3. Honey Face Mask: Apply Honey to face and allow to sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

4. Herbal Facial Toner: Soak a cotton ball with herbal facial toner and apply to skin.

5. Neroil Facial Oil: Finish with Neroli Facial oil to lock in moisture. Drop a small dab into the palm of your hand and apply to face, massaging into skin
